Since 1994, Northern CARE has worked in cooperation with many organizations and businesses with the intent of increasing the viability of recycling initiatives and waste reduction in Northern Alberta.  Northern CARE has been instrumental in coordinating regionally based northern recycling projects, has promoted the education of benefits of recycling in northern schools and has increased public awareness throughout northern Alberta.

Currently, Northern CARE has developed a business partnership to deal with eliminating ewaste (electronic waste) from our landfill sites and to take advantage of the economics of working together for a long term solution.

You can read our presentation outlining our intent to collect eWaste from northern Alberta in coordination with northern municipalities. Also included in this presentation, is the additional objective to further collect milk containers, fluorescent tubing, cardboard, and other wireless products in the very near future. You can also check out our Member Service Level Options for further information on costs.

The Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) has endorsed our business proposal for the eWaste program and Northern CARE in conjunction with GEEP Electronics will be one of the designated collectors of ewaste in Northern Alberta.

We encourage you to register with ARMA as a municipal collection site and select a designated collector for your eWaste removal.
