  1. Recycle - find out from your municipal office what products are recyclable in your area

  2. Avoid single serve packaging - TV dinners, yogurt cups, small packages of chips or cookies, etc.

  3. Avoid disposable food containers whenever possible - bring a travel mug when you purchase coffee to go, bring a re-usable container with you to dinner for your leftovers, etc.

  4. Purchase recycled products

  5. Double side your printing and photocopying

  6. Don't let the water run when brushing your teeth

  7. Leave your grass clippings on your lawn - it will fertilize your lawn and reduce your waste

  8. Compost your food and yard waste in a backyard composter - not only will you throw less away but you will have compost for your garden every year

  9. Take a cloth bag or backpack shopping to put your purchases in - this will eliminate or at least reduce the number of plastic bags you use

  10. Put a "No Junk Mail" sign on your mail box
